The objective of the doctoral degree programme at the University of Applied Arts Vienna is to contribute – through guided but independently conducted research – to the development of the sciences in the disciplines represented at the University.
In the doctoral programme, students are to acquire the ability to solve complex scientific problems in foundational and applied research at a high international level in accordance with recognised scientific standards.

The duration of the doctoral degree programme is 6 semesters. During this time, courses that are determined within the framework of the dissertation agreement are to be completed.
