Study at the Institute

Admission to the Doctoral Degree Programme is granted by the rectorate. Prerequisite is a completed subject-appropriate diploma or master’s degree, or completed studies of equal value at a recognized domestic or foreign education institution.

The admission procedure is set up as follows:
Step 1: online application for admission
We recommend to clarify the topic of the dissertation and the supervising tutor beforehand!

Step 2: submitting exposé and short presentation in front of a scientific advisory board
Both must have taken place by the end of the second study semester and are prerequisite for concluding the dissertation agreement.

Step 3: dissertation agreement
The formal supervision of the dissertation starts after the dissertation agreement has been finalized between the student and the supervising tutor. The agreement is based on an exposé and a short presentation in front of a scientific advisory board. The dissertation agreement is to be concluded by the end of the second study semester.

Step 4: interim presentation
It is recommended to present the preliminary research results during the course of the study programme in a second public interim presentation.
